Relational resolutions: digital encounters in ethnographic fieldwork

The articles in this special issue highlight the\udrelationality existing between researchers, participants,\udcameras and images, with each article bringing\udcomplementary perspectives on the use of digital images\udin ethnographic fieldwork. These include reactivating\udarchives through their digitization for visual\udrepatriation, facilitating dialogue and understanding\udbetween participant and researcher, analysing the\udrelation between participants and the virtual spaces of\udtheir self-representations and exploring the range of\udcapacities for new research methodologies afforded by\uddigital technologies. Individually and through their\udjuxtaposition, the articles highlight the complexity of the\udinteractions between researchers and participants in\udtheir digital encounters and open dialogical spaces, in\udethnographic fieldwork and in visual anthropology,\udabout access, participation and transparency in\udrepresentational practices.
